- Struggle for
Forest Rights Lekha-Mendha a tribal village in Gadchiroli district of
Maharashtra struggled to establish the community rights over 1800
hectors of forest land. Historically villagers had the rights over the
forest. It is the first village Gramsabha in India to succeed in
establishing full rights under the Forest Rights Act 2006. Two non
profit organizations Vrukashamitra and JnanaPrabodhini, assisted the
villagers to establish their rights. This video is improvisation over
the video shooting and clip done by the village youths.
