Recognition of the community rights under the Forest Rights Act remain a major challenge in the implementation of the Forest Rights Act. The amended rules in 2012 require a process for delineation and mapping of the community forest resources. One of the major issues in this regard is the lack of knowledge and capacity at various levels to facilitate delineation and mapping of CFR. There are however encouraging examples of community and civil society initiatives on mapping of CFR using GPS/GIS technology. This page is created to share information about the CFR mapping process, related developments and initiatives.
